Harlem Renaissance. Ms. Siegelheim

These two students are sophomores.  They should begin a project for my class by studying the poems of Langston Hughes.  Today we began our unit study of the Harlem Renaissance.  I will enclose a set of videos for them to watch, poems they will need to read, and a review of the type of poetry that Langston Hughes wrote.  In closing, this until should last no longer than 5 weeks.

Directions:  

1.  The next time you meet with them you will have show them the videos.  The discussion should be "Why is the Harlem Renaissance such an important event in American history?  They should discuss this with you and then write a 5-7 sentence response.
